Great if you’re just starting out and want to learn the very basics. If you’re serious about learning non destructive retouching I would not get this book as it’s now dated and many of the ‘after’ images look overly processed, don’t retain any skin texture, and have that cheesy 90’s editing style. When I purchased it a few years ago I was hoping that “PROFESSIONAL TECHNIQUES” meant they’d go beyond beginner level, kinda disappointing. It’s just stuff you can find online by doing a basic Youtube search done by an amateur instructor. I also dislike the delivery of information. It reads like a messy rough draft e-mail. “And then you click this then that drag it but not too much kind of but not quite so its blurry but not too much” this is how it read in my opinion. I wish it was organized by steps that were broken down further into bullet points for easy following. Cramming all the info into one paragraph didn’t make learning enjoyable hence why I only skimmed through this book.
