SketchUp 3D training for businesses

Model spaces, buildings and concepts quickly, then present them with clear views, scenes and documents.

Beginner to advancedOnline or in person1 to 15 participants3-hour blocks

Professional training

A method that connects theory to real work

SketchUp is fast when the model is structured correctly from the start. Training emphasizes inferences, groups, components, tags, scenes and conventions that prevent difficult-to-edit files. Depending on the mandate, the path includes LayOut, CAD or BIM exchanges and client documentation.

Objectives, software versions, authorized files and expected results are confirmed before training. The instructor alternates short explanations, demonstrations, guided practice, questions and immediate feedback.

Course plans

Choose the path that fits your team

Each path can be delivered alone, combined with another or adapted to your files. A mixed-level group can be divided so participants progress at the right pace.

Level 2

SketchUp intermediate

Model faster and produce consistent documentation for client revisions.

9 hours3 sessions of 3 hours
  • Use components and repetition effectively
  • Manage larger models
  • Create scenes, sections and options
  • Document with LayOut

Level 3

SketchUp advanced

Establish modelling and documentation standards for complex collaborative projects.

9 hours3 sessions of 3 hours
  • Optimize geometry and performance
  • Create reusable libraries
  • Manage interoperability and extensions
  • Standardize LayOut

Detailed program

Three-hour sessions with practical objectives

The plan is flexible. Examples, exercises and deliverables are confirmed according to the industry, level and available tools.

Path 1

SketchUp beginner

6 hours2 sessions of 3 hours

Who this path is for: 3D beginners and people who use SketchUp without a consistent organization method.

Prerequisites: None

01

Session 1 — Foundations

Interface, navigation, axes, inferences, measurements, lines, shapes, Push/Pull and transformations.

02

Session 2 — Organized model

Groups, components, tags, materials, scenes, styles, shadows and export.

Path 2

SketchUp intermediate

9 hours3 sessions of 3 hours

Who this path is for: Regular users who present options, revise projects and produce client documents.

Prerequisites: Beginner-level skills

01

Session 1 — Efficient modelling

Components, repetitions, solids, intersections, Sandbox and references.

02

Session 2 — Organization and presentation

Tags, scenes, sections, styles, geolocation where useful and design options.

03

Session 3 — LayOut

Linked views, scales, dimensions, annotations, templates, updates and export.

Path 3

SketchUp advanced

9 hours3 sessions of 3 hours

Who this path is for: Model owners and architecture, design, construction or space-planning teams that want common standards.

Prerequisites: Intermediate-level skills

01

Session 1 — Master model

Structure, external geometry, components, libraries, purge, diagnostics and performance.

02

Session 2 — Interoperability

CAD or BIM import/export according to licences, origin, units, cleanup and safe extensions.

03

Session 3 — Document production

LayOut templates, references, styles, revisions, quality control and archiving.

Target skills

Learn what is genuinely useful

Content is organized around the actions, decisions and results participants must produce rather than a simple feature list.

01

Model accurately

Use axes, inferences, units and measurement tools without distorting the model.

02

Structure the file

Separate geometry with groups, components and tags.

03

Create options

Use scenes, styles, sections and components to compare alternatives.

04

Apply materials

Control scale, orientation and surface consistency.

05

Present the project

Prepare clear views, shadows, annotations and sequences.

06

Document with LayOut

Create linked pages, dimensions and templates that update with the model.

Collaborative training

Training built around your projects

After a short demonstration, participants practise, compare methods and receive immediate feedback. When real files cannot be shared, equivalent exercises reproduce the same constraints without exposing confidential information.

Model an interior layoutBuild volumes, furniture, materials, scenes and options in an organized file.

Create concept variationsCompare options without unnecessary geometry duplication.

Produce a LayOut presentationCreate views, scales, dimensions, annotations and a delivery template.

Targeted workshops

Go deeper on a specific need

A workshop can be delivered on its own or integrated into a longer path to address a production, collaboration or governance challenge.

BASE

Clean and precise models

Axes, inferences, units, groups, components and tags.

COMP

Components and libraries

Create, replace, repeat and maintain reusable elements.

SCENE

Scenes and options

Sections, styles, views, shadows and client presentations.

LAY

Professional LayOut

Linked views, dimensions, annotations, templates and revisions.

CAD

Interoperability

Import, clean and export files according to available formats and licences.

PERF

Performance and governance

Purge, diagnostics, conventions, libraries and quality control.

Frequently asked questions

Prepare your training project

Does training include LayOut?

Yes at the intermediate level or in a targeted workshop, depending on documentation needs.

Can you cover CAD imports?

Yes when the required licences and formats are available. Units, origin, cleanup and conversion limits are included.

Do you support SketchUp Web and Pro?

The edition is confirmed before training because some features and LayOut depend on the licence.

Can we use a real architectural project?

Yes if it is authorized and prepared. Otherwise, an equivalent exercise is created.

Let’s discuss your project

Training adapted to your team?

Describe the result you need, current level, number of participants, preferred delivery and any authorized files or processes.
