Adobe After Effects Tutorial: Editing for Beginners

Hey everyone! Welcome to my first tutorial, I apologise in advance for anything that’s unclear or anything that has been missed out, but please do utilise the pause button if it is too quick paced.

This is a very BASIC tutorial, meaning I have only covered topics such as important to know features, how to import/export, how to make a composition, how to cut/adjust clips and syncing.

The method I have shown with syncing and cutting is how I do it, a bit in a different order but fairly the same, so you do NOT have to do it this way, my main purpose was to show you how After Effects works.

Tutorials on how to create transitions, effects, how to mask etc. will be coming within the near future, thank you for your patience.

great tutorial! i just downloaded ae yesterday and this helped me so much. <3
i have a question, why do some people render with media encore and other people with just ae? does it change anything? and also, when you render your edit, do you upload it to Instagram from your pc or do you send it to your phone and upload it from you phone? (also idk what happens but my quality always is so bad and i have seen other ae edits that have very nice quality)
well sorry i’ve asked too many questions

Thanks for the video! It was so useful, and really helped me navigate the program!
I had a small question though: When I import an hour video in to search for parts, it’s kind of hard to move them to the front of the composition. Also, sometimes they get messed up and show different clips instead of the one I chose. Is there an easier way to move those 1 or 2 second clips to the beginning? Thank you!

I tried downloading svp for free but no matter what I could never successfully run it because it said svp isn’t supported with os mac or sum bs, then I tried to see if people could use AE on mac and I found a legit video where you can download it for free, as a mac user it worked perfectly ( ) that’s the link for free AE it’s legit

how do you download video clips from youtube? i used savefromnet but the videos always appear as a blank green screen or the file is "unsupported". i downloaded quick time player, but the clips still pop up as green.

Whenever you create the video on effects and etc., could you also include how to use presets <3? I downloaded some but i’m having issues with getting them to be the correct length for the clips and syncing them up with the beats in the music.
