Dispersion Effect: Photoshop Tutorial

Dispersion Effect: Photoshop Tutorial

In this Photoshop Tutorial, I will teach you how to create a dispersion effect. This effect has become very popular. It looks fairly complicated, but it’s actually quite simple. I believe the hardest part was finding the perfect free brush set for the effect. Which I have provided below. A few things we’ll be doing is creating the effect using brushes and masks. We’ll also be using a broken glass texture. I will then add a nice gradient for the image, then for the final step, I will sharpen the image and effect to make it stand out much more. I hope you like this tutorial.

Love this video, I’ve watched it 50 times while trying to project step by step with different images of mine, did some problem solving on my own but the one thing I can’t seem to get is adding the cracked glass texture

When I try to add the dispersion effect at 3.59, it gets black instead of removed, I followed every step so I don’t know what I did wrong 😮

I choose the brush, after everthing i’m gonna do the dispersion effect then doesn’t matter wich one. I click with the brush tool then nothing’s different (yes, it’s at 100% opacity) no matter how many times i click somewhere.

A problem I’m having is that I can’t seem to use any of the brushes you’re using. All the brushes I have are put into folders like dry and wet effect. Also some of the brushes rotate by themselves and I’m not sure why?
