Just want to note that this book is of course an older version, and as such I ended up reading it online.

Completing the course outlined in the book is an excellent way to learn Ruby on Rails, however, its an introduction and leaves a lot of the abstraction at just that. If you would like to learn the details of certain methods and behaviors, a google search will yield great results.

    – Great for beginners and experienced programmers who would like a comprehensive, although not extremely detailed intro to rails.

This is super easy to follow, despite the wide range/depth of the topics. It is amazing how far you can go with this book.

This books is saving my rear end in a software engineering course in school. Be aware that you could read this book for free from the author’s website. The free online version is more up to date as I have found several mistakes that are in the book but are fixed in the online version. Still a great buy if you are a like me who just can not read ebooks and wish to have the reference ready when you need a single line of code. It does save the time of going through hundreds of pages online…..more about the online version…… the online version is in color and the book is B&W. Happy coding!
